Dixieland  Music

Dixieland is the name given to the style of jazz performed by early New Orleans jazz musicians.  The name is a reference to the "Old South," specifically anything south of the Mason-Dixon line.  Dixieland music developed in New Orleans in the early 1900s.  It is one of the earliest styles of jazz music. Even the wee tots enjoy dixieland music. The Peter Banting SWINGTET plays a number of Dixieland pieces, including those listed below.
